New Grokit DLC raises money to fight childhood cancer

In support of the Children's Cancer Research Fund, 3lb Games will release Grokit's Cancer Blaster DLC on September 1st.

Cancer Blaster involves injecting players into the bloodstream to fight cancer cells. The new game mode, character designs, and gameplay mechanics were all developed by children and young people affected by cancer, and every purchase helps fund childhood cancer research. The Grokit Cancer Blaster add-on costs $3.99, and players will receive a new game environment and new avatar accessories.

“It's extraordinary to see how game development can have a huge impact on the fight against childhood cancer. The fact that we as developers have children with cancer makes the game a powerful representation of the lives we are fighting to save alongside the best researchers and doctors in the country,” says Elizabeth Allen, CEO of the Children's Cancer Research Fund.

Released last year by 3lb Games (Space Dragon) on Quest App Lab, Grokit is a hand-tracking multiplayer game in mixed reality. It is inspired by party games like WarioWare, where players are put in bizarre situations and must react in a short amount of time.

Grokit is now available for the Meta Quest platform for $14.99.
