Man arrested and charged with murder: He shot a 16-year-old in Lexington in July

Lexington police have arrested a man accused of killing a 16-year-old teenager in July.

Robert Constant, 36, was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center on Wednesday, jail records show, and faces charges of murder and weapons possession.

The fatal shooting occurred early on the morning of July 19 at the Gatehouse Apartments on Liberty Road. Police had previously said C'aveyoun Robinson, 16, was found dead in a vehicle from a gunshot wound.

Later that morning, police stormed The Revive at 1749 Liberty Road apartment complex and attempted to contact a person suspected in the murder. Police later said the person they were looking for was not there.

A few days after the shooting, Constant was identified as a suspect.

Constant is being held in the Fayette County Jail on $750,000 bail, court records show. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette District Court on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, there have been ten murders in Lexington this year. An arrest was made in eight of these murders.
