Flack Broadcasting – UPDATE: Carthage suspects accused of burglary and drug possession allegedly attempted to steal copper pipes from the former Watertown Correctional Facility

WATER CITY- State police investigators have released some new details about the two suspects from Carthage, New York, who were arrested on numerous charges, including burglary and drug possession.

As reported Wednesday, Donald G. Bishop, 33, and Zachary Benedict Guichard, 44, were formally charged with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree burglary, as well as one count each of misdemeanor malicious damage to property (with intent to damage property), possession of burglary tools, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia (package/scales) and third-degree criminal trespass.

Investigations indicate that the two were arrested in the former, now closed, Watertown Correctional Facility.

It is alleged that Bishop and Guichard attempted to steal copper pipes. In addition, the two were reportedly in possession of methamphetamine and amphetamine pills.

Following arraignment in CAP Court, Guichard was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail without bail, while Bishop was held on bail of $10,000 cash, $20,000 (partially secured bail) or $40,000 (unsecured bail).

Additionally, on August 22, State Police arrested Joseph D. Palladino Sr., 55, of Carthage, NY, for third-degree trespassing (a class B misdemeanor).

Mr. Palladino was arrested after he was caught trespassing at the Watertown Correctional Facility in the city of Watertown, police said.

Palladino Sr. received a summons to appear, which was to be returned to the CAP Court.
