Man Utd injury blow: Mason Mount out for several weeks

Manchester United's Mason Mount is expected to be out for four to five weeks due to a thigh injury.

The midfielder, who was substituted at half-time in United's recent defeat to Brighton, will now miss key upcoming matches, including a clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The injury occurred during the first half of the game against Brighton, with Mount complaining of a sensation in his leg that didn't feel quite right.

Although the 25-year-old was not in any pain, he was taken off the pitch as a precaution. Subsequent examinations confirmed the extent of the injury.

Mount's frustration and determination

On Instagram, Mount shared his frustration with his fans: “I've had it checked and it looks like I'll be out for a few games… I'll do everything I can to come back in top shape and help the team.” His determination to come back stronger reflects his desire to make an impact this season after already battling injuries last year.

Mount, who joined United from Chelsea for £55 million ($72) in July 2023, has started the season well, impressing in the opening win over Fulham. His absence adds to Erik ten Hag's injury concerns, with several key players already out, including Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund.

For now, United will be without one of their key midfielders for the next few weeks as Mount focuses on his recovery.
