RHOC's Katie Ginella accused of making false allegations to police

Real Housewives of Orange County star Katie Ginella was accused of calling the police with false accusations, which led to a man being arrested for false imprisonment, In contact can report exclusively.

According to court documents, the In contactIn March 2016, a man named Sidnei Silva filed a lawsuit against 40-year-old Katie.

In his lawsuit, Sidnei stated that an incident with Katie occurred on the street on April 12, 2015.

He claimed that she followed him to his house and parked her vehicle “behind” his work car in front of his residence.

“[Katie] got out of her vehicle and confronted [Sidnei] aggressive,” the lawsuit states.

The man said he pulled out his cellphone to record Katie “out of self-protection,” which led to her calling 911 to “falsely” report a crime.

He said Katie told the operator he prevented her from leaving the scene of the accident. Sidnei said he did not in any way hinder or prevent Katie from getting in her car and leaving the scene of the accident.

“When the police arrived minutes later … [Katie] informed them again that [Sidnei] had blocked her path and prevented her from getting into her vehicle and driving away.”

“As a result [Katie’s] The police initially arrested [Sidnei] for false imprisonment, disorderly conduct and reckless driving,” the lawsuit states. “After further investigation, police determined that [Katie] was the main aggressor and that her accusations against [Sidnei] were wrong.”

Sidnei said: “As a result of the investigation conducted by [Katie’s] call and her subsequent false accusations, was thrown to the ground, injured and arrested.”

He said he was forced to hire lawyers to contest the charges, which were eventually dropped.

He said he spent $12,625 on his defense. He said Katie should be held liable for the costs. Sidnei also accused Katie of defamation.

He demanded over $100,000 in damages.

According to court records, Katie never responded to the case and in 2018, a default judgment was entered for $112,945.00.

Sidnei filed a separate lawsuit against the police officer involved in his arrest, which revealed the details that allegedly led to Katie following Sidnei home.

It notes that Sidnei was on his way home when he noticed Katie texting while driving with several children in the car.

He said a driver killed his brother eight years ago for texting. He claimed he shook his head in disapproval as he passed Katie, after which she followed him.

The lawsuit stated: “[Katie] parked behind Silva, got out of her car, left the children inside, and yelled at him. Confused by the woman's behavior – after all, she was the one who had endangered the public and the children in her car by texting while driving – Silva began recording the incident on his cellphone.”

In 2018, Sidnei and the officer agreed to drop the case.

As In contact As first reported, Katie was embroiled in a bitter divorce from her ex-husband Andrew Sundseth in 2016.

Under their original agreement, Andrew was awarded primary custody of the children. The exes went back to court in 2018 and worked out a new deal in which Katie was awarded custody of their daughter and Andrew kept their two boys. In the case, Katie was accused of forging her ex-husband's name on student loan documents. She denied the allegations.

Recently, Katie was sued for $5 million in damages for allegedly “stealing” a business idea.

She denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
