Teenager suspected of targeted shooting in Hagerstown

A 41-year-old man was injured in a shooting incident just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement. The incident occurred in the 100 block of East Washington Street in Hagerstown, where police responded to the victim, who suffered multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg.

Hagerstown police identified a 16-year-old boy as a suspect in what is believed to be a targeted attack. The teen reportedly fled the scene on foot but was arrested by officers in the 300 block of Liberty Street.

The victim received medical treatment at Meritus Medical Center. Meanwhile, authorities said the juvenile suspect will likely face adult charges and is expected to be arraigned later that evening.
