Tulare County teenager arrested for series of burglaries

A 14-year-old boy is in police custody for the second time following a series of lightning break-ins at businesses in Tulare County.

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) – A 14-year-old boy is in police custody for the second time following a series of lightning break-ins at businesses in Tulare County.

Authorities said the teenager drove stolen vehicles into the stores before he and others fled with the cash.

The most recent thefts occurred Wednesday at the Tipton Dollar General and the Earlimart Valero.

Surveillance videos show the thieves ramming vehicles into the stores.

Sheriff's investigators quickly identified the 14-year-old because he had been arrested in Tulare and Kern counties late last month for a similar series of burglaries.

In addition, a 20-year-old man was arrested, but other suspects are still at large.
