PD: 2 suspects arrested after Phoenix police track down stolen vehicle

Police were called to I-10 near 7th Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. It didn't take long for the car to be found.

PHOENIX – Two people involved in a suspected car theft are in custody after Phoenix police tracked down the car Thursday morning.

According to initial reports, authorities were called to Interstate 10 near 7th Street for a stolen vehicle. When officers found the vehicle, it disregarded a traffic stop and drove off the highway.

The trail was then followed to 21st Avenue and Cactus Road, where the two occupants exited the car and ran away on foot. Officers found and arrested both people, police said.

Because the case is still under investigation, few details are known. Police expect to have more information soon.
