Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is a gladiator in the new Pepsi commercial

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce transforms into a football gladiator in his latest cameo appearance.

Fans will see Kelce both on and off the football field this season as the Chiefs work toward their goal of winning three consecutive Super Bowls.

Off the field, Kelce stars in a remake of an iconic Pepsi commercial, playing the role of a “gladiator of the NFL.” The new commercial aired on CBS Mornings on September 5.

In an exclusive interview with CBS, Kelce said he can't wait for the season to start.

“I'm ready to get the rookies involved, get the offseason workouts and everything else in place, and when game day comes, it's going to be a lot of fun for sure,” Kelce said in the CBS Mornings interview.

When asked why he thinks people want him to succeed, Kelce said it's all about joy.

“I hope it's because they see that I'm just a really good person and that I love what I do and I love doing it with the people that I do it with. I'd rather give everyone joy and something to be happy about,” he told CBS Mornings.

Kelce certainly gives his fans reason to rejoice in his new Pepsi commercial.

Kelce joins Josh Allen and other NFL stars who dress up in gladiator uniforms and are ready to rock the cheering crowd.

“Are you ready?” Kelce yells before staring down a charging tiger.

The NFL stars then work together to defeat the Tigers while Megan Thee Stallion sings in the background.

The success brings Kelce and the other athletes their own cans of Pepsi.
