Helena Bonham-Carter sparked rumours of an engagement to boyfriend Rye Dag Holmboe when she showed off a sparkling diamond ring while strolling through north London on Tuesday.

The 58-year-old “Crown” actress showed off her edgy fashion sense in a colorful ensemble, wearing a red and nude floral maxi skirt and a mustard-colored ruffled top with mesh details.

She combined the casual look with a pair of black sneakers and a brown handbag to carry her essentials.

Helena has been in a relationship with the 35-year-old art historian for six years since her separation from film director Tim Burton in 2014.

However, speaking to the Daily Mail in March 2022, Helena said she was in no hurry to exchange vows, stressing: “I wasn't married the first time.”

The actress, who once cited Vivienne Westwood and Marie Antoinette as her most important style influences, wore her brown locks up during her trip to the capital and rounded off her unique look with a green hairpiece and matching glasses.

Although temperatures in London were almost -30 degrees, the actress decided to tie a black jacket around her outfit.

However, Richard Eden of the Daily Mail reported in 2021 that she had decided to share a home with her scientist boyfriend and even increased domestic happiness by adopting pet rabbits.

The couple met at a wedding in 2018, four years after Helena separated from Tim.

She explained to The Guardian how they met: “A completely random thing that neither of us nearly went to, so it was one of those moments that involved so much coincidence and ended up determining so much. A really happy coincidence and it's an amazing thing.”

Regarding the 21-year age difference between the couple, the actress previously said in an interview with The Times:

“Everyone ages at a different rate. My boyfriend is incredibly mature. He is an old soul in a young body, what more could I ask for?

“People are a little afraid of older women, he wasn't. Women can be very powerful when they're older.”
