Student in custody after bringing a gun to Maclntyre Park Middle School, officials say

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) – According to the Thomasville City School System, a student is in custody after a handgun was brought into MacIntyre Park Middle School on Thursday.

Around noon, a middle school student told the principal that she saw a gun in another student's bag, a news release said. The principal and school security officer then observed the student searching through her belongings and found a gun.

There were no reports of threats or injuries.

All students were able to remain in their classrooms during the incident and return to their regular classes after authorities confirmed that everything was safe.
