Jessica Pegula family tree: Meet the NFL owner's father and mother, the US tennis star's husband and siblings

Jessica Pegula is one of the best American tennis players in the world. Her rise to the top of the women's singles rankings has been impressive, but her involvement in the sporting world stretches back to her birth years.

Pegula, the daughter of Terry and Kim Pegula, has been involved in sports her entire life, either as a fan or as an advocate. Her parents own both the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.

She stayed away from the grass and the rink, preferring to play on the court instead. Jessica made her debut at the 2011 US Open at the age of 17, competing in both singles and doubles events. Jessica Pegula's father

Terry Pegula is a billionaire who made his fortune through petroleum engineering and fracking. He bought the Buffalo Sabres in 2011, a move that fans of the franchise applauded at the time. Losing seasons continued, and the team has never made the playoffs under the new ownership. He and Jessica's mother Kim bought the Bills in 2014.

Before meeting Kim, Terry was married to Anne Shirley, although not much is known about the timing of their marriage. The couple had two children together before divorcing. Terry married Kim in 1993. His estimated net worth in 2024 is over $7 billion.

Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1969. She was abandoned at the age of five and then brought to the United States and adopted in 1974. She grew up in Fairport, just outside of Rochester, New York, and attended Houghton College. Kim was applying for a job as a waitress when she met Terry, who offered her a job at his natural gas company. The couple eventually married in 1993 and had three children.

Kim suffered a cardiac arrest in 2022 that resulted in a brain injury. She was declared disabled in March 2023, but has since been able to participate in a few training camps, including one in July 2024 when she broke up the huddle after a Bills practice.

It's no secret who Pegula's parents are, but you might not know her husband that well. Pegula does a good job of keeping her personal life private, so not much is known about when she started dating her current husband, Taylor Gahagen. The best guess seems to be 2015. The couple eventually married in 2021. Gahagen worked for Pegula Sports and Entertainment, which was owned by Terry and Kim. He was involved with the company for about a decade, holding positions in marketing, advertising, and as the director of corporate development.

Gahagen left Pegula Sports and Entertainment in 2023 and is now managing partner of Agarwood Wealth and Dracos Capital, according to his LinkedIn account.

Jessica Pegula Siblings

Pegula has four siblings, two from her father's previous marriage and two from his marriage to Kim. Michael and Laura Pegula are from Terry's marriage to Annie. Not much is known about Michael, but Laura got into the family oil business and has now taken over Kim's role in the Bills' organization due to her stepmother's health.

Kelly and Matthew are Jessica's siblings from her father's marriage to Kim. Kelly is an aspiring singer and fashion designer who reportedly works for Pegula Sports and Entertainment. Much like his stepbrother Michael, not much is known about Matthew other than occasional birthday greetings on the team's official X account.
