Fans admit they 'cried like a baby' after watching Chris Stapleton's latest music video

The country singer and guitarist unveiled the video in full on YouTube and shared a clip from the project on Instagram on Thursday, August 29. The song that inspired the video was written by Stapleton, 46, and is featured on his 2023 album. Higher.

The video begins with an image of an elderly gentleman lying on his deathbed surrounded by his family. As he died, the man began to dance – even though his family couldn't see him – because he realized that his death meant he could be reunited with the love of his life, who had died a few years before him. The touching video shows the two dancing together once they are free to exist in the same space again.

In the first few hours after its release, the video garnered hundreds of comments on social media as fans of the ten-time Grammy winner praised his creativity and melted at the music video's message of undying love.

“Omgggg I cried like a baby! 😅 This is AWESOME❤️❤️❤️🔥,” wrote one fan, while another admitted the video “made me ugly cry.”

“Chris, I felt EVERY emotion in this music video! It is incredibly well done. Thank you ❤️🔥,” one person praised the singer.

Some fans wrote that the characters in the video reminded them of their own grandparents' love stories. Others wished they could be so lucky one day. One wrote: “I hope we can all see our loved ones again somewhere out there ♥️.”

Overall, fans seemed to agree that the video was “perfection,” with one Instagram user giving it a rating of “10/10 😍👏🏼.”

While one fan said he “felt every emotion” while watching the video, another admitted he experienced a “goosebumps overdose.”

With the release on Thursday, Stapleton revealed the “video of the year,” another fan explained.
