Ravens honor Joe D'Alessandris and Jacoby Jones with helmet stickers

The Ravens lost two of their players this offseason, Jacoby Jones and Joe D'Alessandris passed away. To honor them, the Ravens will place a helmet decal in the shape of a shield with “Joe D.” and “Jacoby 12.”

Harbaugh explained what the helmet decals will mean for the players, the team and the fans this season.

“Hopefully the Jacoby Jones and Joe D'Alessandris helmet pendants remind us that it's about the people. It's about the people in your life that you share this time on Earth with. Treat them well, appreciate them, celebrate them, love them and remember them.”

D'Alessandris passed away on August 25 after being hospitalized for an “acute illness.” Before his hospitalization, he was on the field every day doing what he loved: coaching and mentoring offensive linemen and the men under the pads.

Jones died on July 14 in his hometown of New Orleans from cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure. He was only 40 years old.

“I loved Jacoby Jones. We all loved him,” Harbaugh said when Jones died. “His spirit, enthusiasm and love for people were powerful. He was a beacon of light. He was the beloved son of his loving mother, Ms. Emily.”
