George Lopez remembers a life-changing encounter with Sandra Bullock

George Lopez recently spoke about his close friendship with Sandra Bullock and revealed that she holds a special place in his heart.

On the iHeartRadio On the podcast “Politickin' with Gavin Newsom, Marshawn Lynch, and Doug Hendrickson,” Lopez recounted how Bullock had a profound impact on his life, saying she “changed the direction of his life.”

He also shared a personal anecdote, recalling a time in the mid- to late '90s when Bullock planned to attend one of his comedy club performances.

Lopez admitted that he had “had a lot to drink” at the time and begged the manager not to let her in, saying “I didn't want her to see me like that.”

Accordingly People Magazinehe recalled, “I didn't even know her. And I knelt down in that green room and said, 'Please, please don't let her.'”

About a year and a half later, Lopez and Bullock crossed paths again when she became executive producer of his popular television show.

Lopez was looking for new talent at the time and Bullock's involvement marked a significant turning point in their professional relationship.

“I had already gotten a little bit ready, and then she saw me and said, 'Come to my office.' We sat there for about three hours. No one had ever believed in me,” Lopez noted.

The George Lopez Show debuted in 2002 and ran for six successful seasons until it ended in 2007, according to the publication.

He recalled: “She changed my life, and you know, the lives of everyone in my family, for no other reason than that she just thought I was funny.”
