The Tribute in Light test begins, creating incredible beams of light visible throughout New York City.

The Tribute in Light, an annual art installation commemorating the September 11 attacks, was tested on September 5, 2024, ahead of its 23rd anniversary. It consists of 88 vertical searchlights arranged in two columns of light to represent the twin towers of the World Trade Center. They will be visible from dusk on September 11 to dawn on September 12, 2024, within a 60-mile radius of Lower Manhattan.
