After a disappointing UEFA Euro 2024, Italy are back and will debut their Nations League campaign in Paris against France to begin a new cycle under coach Luciano Spalletti. Didier Deschamps' team were knocked out in the semifinals by Spain, while the Azzurri were eliminated in the round of 16 by a disastrous defeat to Switzerland. About the team

France: Deschamps has not changed much in his squad compared to the last tournament, although two big names such as Inter's Benjamin Pavard and the out-of-contract Adrien Rabiot were not in the squad for the opening match against Italy. Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe are expected to start in support of Inter's striker Marcus Thuram, who will lead the attack.
