Vanderpump Rules alumna Kristen Doute is engaged to Luke Broderick

Wedding bells are ringing for Kirsten Doute and Luke Broderick!

The valley The co-stars got engaged on Wednesday, September 4, after Broderick proposed to her while filming the second season of the Bravo reality show, a source told PEOPLE.

According to Us Weekly, which first broke the news, Broderick proposed with a “4.27-carat emerald-cut diamond plus half a carat worth of diamonds on the ring and hidden halo” while the couple were on a boat in Maui, Hawaii, earlier this week.

The couple's engagement came after Doute, 41, shared a series of loved-up snaps of the pair on August 9 with the caption, “Find the person you can't live without đź’«.”

The Vanderpump Rules Alum met Broderick at a friend's wedding, where he was best man in June 2022, two weeks after her split from her ex Alex Menache. She recounted their meeting during the premiere of The valleysaid Kristen, “I thought he was cute, he was nice, he was funny and then we had sex behind a tent and the rest is history.”

The duo kept their romance secret for several months and started a joint podcast called Balancing act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick in November 2022. The following month, Doute announced their relationship during an episode of the podcast.

After splitting the first two years of their relationship between Colorado and Los Angeles, Broderick and Doute moved into an apartment together in Valley Village, California in March 2024.

The two gave Bravos The daily dish a tour of the apartment where they live with their two dogs and a gecko.

Doute and Broderick also spoke openly about their desire to start a family together.

At the end of 2023, the duo announced on their podcast that they had suffered a miscarriage in the sixth week.

During the episode, Doute reflected on the “horrific” pregnancy loss, but said she is still positive about the future.

“The only silver lining, the fact that we've been processing this for four or five days now, is that I know that once Luke and I get through this, we can try again,” she said. “And we were very lucky to get pregnant so quickly. We were so lucky because at my age, things could have turned out differently for me.”

“I didn't do IVF or freeze my eggs. I didn't do anything. I just believe there's something in God's plan,” she continued, adding that the couple is “very confident that they will have a very healthy pregnancy next time.”

In a May 2024 interview, Doute also told PEOPLE that she and Broderick were still very “hopeful” that a baby was in the cards for them and that they were ready to try again.

“I mean, it gives us hope,” the reality TV star told PEOPLE. “I don't think it's false hope. We had only been trying for a couple of months at this point and we were lucky.”

“So we're just back on the train, trying, crossing our fingers. We're doing it every month exactly the way we should be doing it. So yeah, we're just hopeful,” she added.
