Jennifer Lopez attends Toronto Film Festival amid divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez celebrates the debut of an inspiring new film.

The 55-year-old actress celebrated the premiere of her latest film Unstoppable at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, September 6, which her ex Ben Affleck, the project's producer, skipped. (He was spotted in Los Angeles earlier in the day.)

Lopez, who plays the mother of real-life wrestler Anthony Robles (played by Jharrel Jerome) in the sports drama, wore a dress by Tamara Ralph with jewelry by Hassanzadeh.

Her appearance at TIFF comes two and a half weeks after she filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, after two years of marriage. After rekindling their early 2000s romance in 2021, the couple married in Las Vegas in July 2022 and had a larger wedding reception in Georgia the following month.

Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 20, the second anniversary of the couple's Southern wedding in Georgia.

“She was tired of waiting and the date she did it speaks volumes,” a source told PEOPLE at the time, adding that the move “gives her control over the process.”

Unstoppable follows the true story of wrestler Robles, who was born with one leg and won an NCAA national championship for Arizona State University in 2011.

In addition to Lopez and Jerome, 26, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Don Cheadle also star. A press release for the film states that Robles, 36, also worked on the film as a producer and is credited as a stunt double for Jerome.

Unstoppable was produced by Affleck and his buddy Matt Damon under his production company Artists Equity. Damon and his wife Luciana also attended the TIFF premiere.

“What fun, what a joy to do something with her, to see how amazing she is, to go to work with your wife, to go to work with your best friend,” Affleck said. CBS Sunday Morning the collaboration with Lopez Unstoppable in March 2023.

“If you don't like the people you work with and if you have difficulties or problems at work, I think that's one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety and pain in people,” he added at the time. “And vice versa, [if] You like the people at work, then you probably have a pretty good life, you know?”

Unstoppable will be in select theaters in December and soon on Prime Video.
