WWE SmackDown Preview (September 6, 2024): The final episode on FOX

Smash will air tonight (September 6) with a live show from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is the first episode of Smash during the five-week build-up phase Bad bloodwhich takes place on October 5th.

WWE SmackDown says goodbye to FOX

Tonight's episode of SmackDown is the last to air on FOX. The blue brand is moving back to the USA Network starting next week, so WWE needs to prepare its fans for the change. The best way to do that is to book a big championship match on this card.

For this purpose Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is in the building tonight and will address Solo Sikoa. The self-proclaimed Tribal Chief has already declared that he will be next in line to challenge for WWE's top prize. If I were to bet, I'd bet that struggling babyface champion Cody will accept Solo's challenge tonight and set up the big title match for next week's SmackDown USA premiere.

Is that enough to satisfy Solo, or will he order The Bloodline to attack Cody no matter what the American Nightmare has to say? You'll have to tune into the latest episode of SmackDown on FOX to see how Cody and Solo handle this situation.

The rest of today’s map

The Bloodline will face DIY and the Street Profits in an 8-man tag team match tonight. Jacob Fatu has already shown he can dominate the tag team division on his own, so with The Bloodline at full strength, this should be an easy feat.

Bayley returned to SmackDown last week to get her hands on Tiffany Stratton, who interfered in the main event. This time, they have their own match, with Bayley looking for revenge after Tiffany played a role in Bayley's title loss at SummerSlam. Will Queen Nia Jax be at ringside to support Stratton, or is she on her own against the pissed off babyface?

Where the hell is Giovanni Vinci? He returns to SmackDown tonight!

Other things to keep in mind

US Champion LA Knight has been busy defending his belt over the last two episodes of SmackDown. Will he take a week off from the ring tonight and just take someone down on the mic instead?

– Is General Manager Nick Aldis ready to announce the next match in the ongoing series between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes? Will there be any special conditions for the next match?

– Now that Randy Orton's run on Raw is over, how soon will he return to SmackDown on television?

– Is Kevin Owens ready to explain what is bothering him after his loss to Cody Rhodes at the Bash in Berlin?

– Will A-Town Down Under finally fall apart after taking on Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews?

– Where is AJ Styles?
