ATLANTA — An autopsy was performed on rapper Rich Homie Quan on Friday, but the cause of death will not be released until further tests are completed, officials said.

The Fulton County Coroner in the US state of Georgia said the investigation was completed one day after Quan, whose real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died at the age of 33 in an Atlanta hospital.

“The cause and manner of death have not been determined until laboratory tests and microscopic examination of tissue samples are completed,” the coroner said.

It was not immediately clear when the tests would be conducted, but the process could take months.

11Alive learned that Atlanta police responded to a 911 call from a home on Hamden Forest Drive SW in Atlanta just after 11:20 a.m. Thursday.
