No. 21 Iowa (1-0) hosts Iowa State (1-0) in the big game tonight at 2:30 p.m. The Hawkeyes have won seven of the last eight games in the series, but the Cyclones still have the titles in Iowa City, having won the last game at Kinnick Stadium in 2022. The big news was Iowa's offense — in new offensive coordinator Tim Lester's first game at the helm — scoring 40 points, including a dominant 34-point second-half performance. The Hawkeyes totaled 492 yards of offense and 23 first downs. Both of those totals would have been season highs last year, and you'd have to go back to September 2019 to find a higher yardage total by an Iowa offense. In Ames, Iowa State needed just 38 seconds to score its first touchdown. Then the Cyclones let off the gas and cruised to a 21-3 victory over North Dakota.
