Cause of death of Keke Jabbar announced

Keke Jabbar, star of OWN's Love & Marriage: Huntsvilledied at the age of 42, her cause of death has now been announced.

According to an autopsy report from the Alabama Medical Examiner, Jabbar died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

TMZ reports that Jabbar's blood had 64% carboxyhemoglobin.

Carboxyhemoglobin is formed in red blood cells when carbon monoxide is inhaled. Normal levels are less than 2% in non-smokers and less than 5% in smokers. Critical levels of carboxyhemoglobin are over 20%.

The news of Jabbar's death was widely shared by her friend and YouTuber Prosperity Thickgirl40, who shared a statement from the family in one of her livestreams.

“So, this morning at seven, her husband goes into the garage. He sees Keke, who he thinks is sleeping in the car,” said the YouTube star. “He tries to get her attention. He opens [the car] She's not breathing. Her husband, her partner, her best friend tried to get his wife, the mother of his children, back and he couldn't… Keke died of carbon monoxide poisoning. That's all. That's all.”

LaTisha Moore Scott, a cast member on the reality series OWN and Jabbar's cousin, posted on social media following Jabbar's death.

“In this moment of grief, we ask for RESPECT and PRIVACY as we process this great loss!” Scott shared on Instagram. “This is hard on our family!!!!!”

Jabbar was part of the cast of Love & Marriage: Huntsvillea reality series about three influential African-American couples who have been long-time friends and come together to revitalize the thriving city of Huntsville, Alabama through their joint real estate venture, The Comeback Group.
