AJ Brown on the course conditions in Brazil: “It wasn’t that bad”

The Eagles left Brazil with a win over the Packers, but AJ Brown took a few minutes after the game to talk to reporters before heading back to Philly.

Brown said he wanted to get going early and admitted he was a little preoccupied after missing the Eagles' playoff game due to injury, eager to feel that first tackle and get back in the game.

He thought it was a good game overall. They knew some things were going to go wrong since it was the first game of the season, but they made adjustments and it came down to making plays.

Here is what else the WR had to say:

On-site conditions

Brown explained that there are different types of grass in the USA and that different surfaces are used in football.

“You can't choose the pitch you play on. It wasn't that bad. We changed the studs and you make the best of it.”

He further noted that he and some of the guys switched shoes after the first drive, but ultimately the Packers had to play on the same field, so they had to find a way to make it work.

“For me, that really wasn’t a complaint.”

On Jalen Hurts’ performance

“[Hurts] did it well.”

Brown acknowledged that the quarterback would probably say he wanted some of those throws back, but that was a question for Hurts.

About Saquon Barkley's performance

“[Barkley] played really well tonight. He should have scored four touchdowns and I told him that. But he did really well. It helps us when you get the running game going, it helps the passing game. We're happy to have him on our team and he's started the season really well.”

“So I'm glad we had the opportunity to come here and play.”
