Video: Watch Nick Saban's inauguration ceremony before Alabama vs. USF

Nick Saban was honored with the official unveiling of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium before Alabama's football game against South Florida on Saturday.

Saban was joined in front of the Walk of Champions by his wife Terry and a cheering crowd who came straight from College GameDay in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend the pregame ceremony.

The University of Alabama announced in July that it would name Saban Field in honor of Saban. Saban retired in January after leading Alabama for 17 years, which included six national championships and nine SEC championships. During his career, Saban also produced 61 NFL players at Alabama.

“It's a great honor to have a field named after a legacy that we were able to create here,” Saban said Saturday. “But I want that legacy to represent every player that played and worked hard. Every coach that helped those players develop. Our administration that built a foundation that allowed us to be successful by providing all the resources we needed to have the best program in the country.”

“And to you, the fans, who are always positive in the way you have supported our players, our program and all the things we have done. You have given me more than we have given you.”

Saban will also be honored during halftime of the Crimson Tide game on Saturday.
