Several people were shot near a highway north of London, Kentucky, and a suspect is still at large, officials said Saturday.

London Mayor Randall Weddle said in a Facebook video that seven people were injured, but not all from gunshots – some from car crashes. He said there were no fatalities so far.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook that the shooting occurred near I-75, which was closed at Exit 49 “due to a shooting,” but did not provide further details.

London police have released an image of a suspect and identified him as Joseph A. Couch, a 32-year-old white man who is approximately 5'10″ tall and weighs 150 pounds. Couch is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police said.

Weddle urged the public to avoid the area or take an alternate route and also advised against taking U.S. Highway 25 in either direction between London and Livingston.
