Dive team finds body at ALA Marina Courtesy Docks | News

On Tuesday, September 3, at approximately 1:33 a.m., officers found sandals at the Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) docks. A photo of the sandals was sent to the reporter, who confirmed that they belonged to the missing person.

The San Bernardino County Dive Team began its search at dawn around 6 a.m. while a county sheriff's helicopter conducted aerial surveys of Papoose Lake and Lake Arrowhead. The dive team focused its efforts on areas identified by a tracking dog search. It was discovered that the missing person had left her phone, wallet and keys in her vehicle.

At approximately 11 a.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dive Team found the body near the ALA Community Pier adjacent to the marina. After the body was brought to shore, a member of the dive team returned to the lake to retrieve a backpack containing a 50-pound dumbbell (which was attached to the body). The reporting officer stated that the family had been attempting to have the missing man admitted to a treatment facility for his mental health issues.

At the time of this report, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokesman has not yet issued an official statement.
