Injury report Bengals vs. Patriots: Ja'Marr Chase ill; Jabrill Peppers' participation questionable

We have a new injury report with two big changes.

First, Ja'Marr Chase is apparently ill and his participation with the Bengals remains questionable. One wonders if this is a sign that he will sit out if an agreement is not reached.

On the other hand, the Patriots list starting safety Jabrill Peppers as questionable due to a hip injury. He has not been on the injured list so far and has been practicing all week.

The final practice of Week 1 preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals brought us the final injury report for the week before the New England Patriots come to Paycor Stadium on Sunday.

Rookie defensive end Kris Jenkins (thumb) will not play Sunday, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Jenkins has practiced this week with a bandaged hand, but Taylor spoke to the media on Friday and said Jenkins will need surgery. Taylor added that there is a chance Jenkins will be ready to play for Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase practiced again before speaking to the media about his ongoing contract negotiations. Chase said he is 100% healthy, but it will be a pregame decision whether he plays. Chase said that decision is his and if he does play, he would likely be limited. If a contract extension is agreed to before Sunday, Chase would be expected to be fully operational.

After straining his thigh on Thursday, Tee Higgins did not practice on Friday. When asked about Higgins' status for Sunday, Taylor said: “We'll see.” The team's official report lists his participation as questionable.

Rookie offensive tackle Amarius Mims (chest) was listed as out.

The Patriots are without left guard Sidy Sow and the question of backup right tackle Vederian Lowe, so their offensive line is dangerously thin with guard Cole Strange currently on the PUP list.

The use of backup outside linebacker Josh Uche and backup running back Antonio Gibson is questionable.
