Oregon vs Boise State live stream, where to watch, TV channel, odds, spread, prediction, pick

No. 7 Oregon hosts Boise State this Saturday for a late-night game as the Ducks look to rebound from their subpar performance in the season opener against Idaho. Oregon won 24-14 but only led by three points until the fourth quarter as the offense struggled to finish off attacks and beat the Vandals.

They will certainly have to play better against a Boise State team that scored 56 points in an 11-point road win over Georgia Southern last week. The Broncos are considered by many to be one of the favorites to win the Mountain West and a possible invitation to the College Football Playoff, and this game should be a tough test for both sides.

“Not what we thought it would be,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said after the game against Idaho. “Great teams can learn from close games. This was a close game and we didn't make some of the explosive plays I was hoping for on offense. We let up on some key plays on defense. So there are definitely some things we need to attack.”

Oregon vs. Boise State: What you need to know

Boise State has never lost to Oregon: That's a fact that will surely surprise some, but it's true. These teams have met three times, and Boise State has won all three meetings. In 2008, the Broncos went to Autzen Stadium and beat the Ducks 37-32, and when the Ducks came to Boise the next season seeking revenge, Boise crushed them 19-8. The last meeting was in the 2017 Las Vegas Bowl, a 38-28 victory for the Broncos.

Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty scored six touchdowns against Georgia Southern: It's not easy for players outside of the Power Four conferences to get into the Heisman discussion, and it's even harder when they play running back instead of quarterback. So the best way for Boise's Ashton Jeanty to get noticed is to post absurd stats, which is exactly what he did last week. Jeanty finished the game against Georgia Southern with 267 rushing yards and six touchdowns, averaging an incredible 13.4 yards per carry. And he wasn't alone! His backup, Sire Gaines, ran for 110 yards on 12 carries himself.

Oregon has a 9-1 record in non-conference regular season games since 2021: Although Oregon hasn't had success against Boise State in the past, recent history suggests it has a good chance of winning here. Not only do the Ducks have a 9-1 record in non-conference games since 2021, but their only loss is against a Georgia team that went on to win the national title. It was also Dan Lanning's first game as the program's leader.

Oregon vs. Boise State Prediction, Tips

The Ducks didn't look great last week, but they were missing key pieces of their offensive line and should be back to full health at this point. And how much more were the Ducks going to accomplish when they had much more difficult opponents on the schedule? I don't think this team is anywhere near as bad as it looked last week and expect a bounce back. The Broncos offense was crazy last week, but it will be much tougher against this Oregon defense. We also shouldn't overlook the fact that Boise scored 56 points but allowed 45 on defense. Selection: Oregon -19.5
