USC’s running game is in full swing.

The Trojans started their first drive at their 17-yard line.

Wood Marks ran eight yards and then gained another eight yards.

Marks was charged with a false start and the first down came at the USC 28-yard line.

Marks ran with the ball again, fending off tackles, gaining 33 yards and canceling out his penalty. Miller Moss then completed his first pass, hitting Ja'Kobi Lane for a 12-yard gain that moved the ball to the Utah State 27-yard line.

Quinten Joyner got a handoff and ran up the middle for an 18-yard gain, bouncing off a couple of Aggies, then ran for three more yards.

On Utah State's second and goal, Moss' pass to Lane flew up and out of the end zone. On the third and goal, Moss threw the ball to Lane in the end zone and the ball landed in his hands, but Lane dropped it.

On the fourth attempt and goal at the six, USC coach Lincoln Riley opted for a field goal attempt.

Michael Lantz scored a 23-yard field goal to give USC an early lead.
