The USC football team opened the 2024 college football season with a stunning victory over No. 13 LSU in Week 1.

The Trojans were led by redshirt junior Miller Moss, playing his second career game and replacing former No. 1 pick Caleb Williams, who completed 27 of 36 passes for 378 yards and a touchdown in the 27-20 victory over the SEC opponent. Woody Marks scored the game-winning touchdown with 13 seconds left after a targeting call against LSU.

Following the win, USC jumped nine spots from 23rd to 14th in the weekly US LBM Coaches Poll. The Trojans will host Utah State in their first home game on Saturday. The Aggies defeated Robert Morris 36-14 thanks to a performance by quarterback Bryson Barnes, who rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Barnes also had 88 rushing yards and a touchdown.
