Viewers demand content warning for Emma Stone film with shockingly explicit orgy scene once it is available to stream in the UK

Viewers are demanding a content warning for an Emma Stone film that features a shockingly explicit orgy scene.

The anthology film by Yorgos Lanthimos is about a woman named Eloise (played by Stone) who embarks on a journey through various cities and meets a number of characters, each with their own story.

Jesse Plemons plays her estranged brother, while Margaret Qualley portrays a mysterious artist and Joe Keery plays a charming stranger.

In the second of the three films in the anthology, Stone plays a marine biologist who is lost at sea with his boat.

While Plemons' character waits for her at home, he goes to dinner with his best friend and colleague, played by Mamoudou Athie, and his wife Qualley.

When asked to “watch a tape” with them, Athie and Qualley are initially hesitant, but then give in.

Then there is a sharp cut in the film to the three of them, with Stone joining them – in the middle of the orgy.

What's particularly notable is that the scene is edited in such a way that it shocks the audience: suddenly they are confronted with almost complete nudity and the four of them… well, the only way to describe it is that they attack each other.

One viewer commented on the sex scene as follows: “Types of kindness Being available on Disney Plus feels strange and unnatural, like seeing a crocodile at the dog park.

“I mean, I'm glad it's there for me to watch, but I think there should be a warning or something. The title doesn't prepare you for the journey.”

Another added: “Why the hell is this associated with Disney Plus? It's too dark and really weird. It's too much #KindsOfKindness.”

Now, Types of kindness is full of sex scenes, this one being perhaps the most explicit in the film, but it follows closely on from scenes in the third of the three films, which centers on Hong Chau and Willem Dafoe running a fluid-based sex cult.

Stone spoke to The Guardian about her trust in Lanthimos when he's behind the camera: “I trust him more than I ever could in any director – and I've worked with some great directors.”

“I feel like I can do anything with him. We just have something.”

When discussing the sex scenes in The poor, Director Yorgos Lanthimos said: “It would feel very disingenuous to tell this story about this character who is so free and open and then be prudish about the sexual aspect.

“That was clear from the beginning, but also from the novel, the script and also from my conversations with Emma and the way we came up with these scenes.”

Lanthimos praised Stone’s performance in The poorand said: “She is just incredible.

“The vulnerability, the sensitivity and the humor in it – it's just so difficult to do. I just don't know how she did it.”

Types of kindness is now available to watch on Disney Plus.
