Also further is the men's powerlifting 107 kg. Aliakbar Gharibshahi of Iran leads with 247 kg, a Paralympic record, and as we are in the third round, it will take something significant to keep him from the gold medal. But Sodnompilkee Enkhbayar of Mongolia will be attacking 248 kg shortly; if he can do it, he will take the lead.

Marcel Hug, who won four gold medals in Tokyo, has so far had to settle for two silver and one bronze medal, is comfortably in the lead in the men's T54 marathon. Second is Tomoki Suzuki from Japan, third is Jin Hua from China and fourth is David Weir from Great Britain, but none of them has the slightest chance of catching the leader.

According to LEXI, the T12 classification is “for runners with visual impairment. Their vision is limited to a radius of less than five degrees and/or the ability to detect a moving object at a distance of one meter.”

And T54 “is designed for wheelchair users whose bodies have full functional capacity but who have moderate or severe leg mobility impairment or who no longer have legs. All generate power through the full range of body and arm movements, allowing good acceleration from the start and very responsive maneuvering during the race.”
