Taylor Swift leaves this classic dress code for wedding guests behind

Can you wear cream to a wedding? Taylor Swift definitely thinks so!

The singer and her new mustachioed boyfriend Travis Kelce flew from Kansas City to New York to attend model Karen Elson's wedding to Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster (where Elson wore a custom Valentino gown by Alessandro Michele). For the star-studded occasion, Swift opted for a Zimmermann dress that many would likely be hesitant to wear to another wedding.

The cream linen dress featured a scalloped neckline and hem with cut-out details and a laced corset at the back. But the dress wasn't without color either: The skirt is printed with large, colorful flowers. Swift added an additional pop of color – a “something blue,” if you will – with a round Vivienne Westwood bucket bag in the color of the sky and featuring the late designer's telltale orb emblem. She accessorized with a pair of heeled sandals by Christian Louboutin in the “Leche” colorway.

When it comes to wedding guest attire, most people would avoid anything remotely white at all costs. Even a pale blue or yellow can send the internet and etiquette ethicists alike into an uproar. But some brides are all for guests in white (or white-like). After all, who can forget Solange's all-white wedding in 2014?

While we're not sure if Elson and Foster had a color-specific dress code (supermodel Linda Evangelista and Kelce both wore black, while Helena Christensen wore red), Taylor Swift has a very clear stance on which side of acceptable cream is. Who's brave enough to follow in her footsteps?
