Deepika Padukone's green Banarasi sari is a replica of a centuries-old fabric and a gift

Deepika Padukone recently visited the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai with her entire family. The actress wore a green Banarasi Sari for her holy visit, which was a gift from her friend and stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania. The actress looked beautiful in the sari as she sought blessings Bappa before she gave birth to her first child with husband Ranveer Singh.

The sari she wore is from the brand “Banaras Baithak”. The brand released an official post on Instagram revealing that green Banarasi The weave pattern is a replica of a century-old sari with the same colour and pattern. The label also revealed that Anaita sourced the very first piece they made after six months as a gift for Deepika. The colour green of the sari represents fertility, growth and prosperity and hence suited the actor perfectly.

The brand thanked Anaita on its Instagram stories and wrote, “We are grateful to Anaita for gifting this vintage style piece to the prettiest couple, not forgetting that green is the colour of fertility and auspicious growth. There are no words to describe the kindness shown by Anaita. She ensured that the sari remained untouched by the scissors and remained a symbol of 'And Forever and Ever'. And what words can describe the happy couple? I am lost for words. Only blessings to them (sic)!”

Deepika paired her sari with a pair of dainty Kundan Earrings and her hair in a typical bun. The actress went without any other jewelry and let the sari take center stage. She was accompanied by Ranveer, who was also dressed traditionally. The couple accompanied members from both sides of their families.
