Video: Early gameplay of Sega Revival projects leaked online

It seems there are more gameplay leaks from Sega's legacy revival projects. This information comes from a leaker formerly known as “Midori.” According to the source, the footage shown is still “early” in the development cycle of each game.

First up, we take a look at the Crazy Taxi reboot, which sees multiple vehicles racing through a game world and delivering passengers to their destinations. This footage is supposedly from “2022,” and it's claimed that this particular game could be years away.

Previous reports suggest that this new entry in the series will be a “massively multiplayer driving game.” Sega also released a description of the new Crazy Taxi game in the official documentation:

Crazy Taxi: “Innovative and fresh driving action! Happy feeling of freedom x fusion of nature and city. Get out of the new stage of Crazy City!”

Next up is apparently an “early version” of Shinobi, which shows the game's opening cinematic and a short gameplay sequence. This particular title is reportedly being overseen by Lizardcube (Streets of Rage 4).

Shinobi: Kill the enemies in the silence of the moment. Run through the world of Shinobi full of monsters and ninja action. Grab Oborozuki, the legendary sword, and defeat evil again. Your clan and the world are counting on you.”

The videos above also contain footage from the “early” development phase, so the scenes shown do not necessarily reflect the final product.

Sega has officially announced that it will reinterpret five classic IPs, including Jet Set Radio, Crazy TaxiGolden Axe, Shinobi and Streets of Rage late last year. Some follow-up news suggested that even more legacy franchises could be revived.

These latest leaks follow leaked footage of the new Jet Set Radio remake project in June 2024.
