AP Top 25 Poll Prediction for Week 3

As we assess the damage from Saturday's final games, let's take a look at the AP Top 25 College Football Rankings ahead of Week 3

Who will be promoted? Who will be relegated?

Note: This is not our ranking of the best teams, but our prediction of how the top 25 voters will rank them in Sunday's official poll.

Retiring teams: NC State, Iowa, Kansas, Georgia Tech

25.Illinois. A win against a higher-ranked Kansas team in an important non-conference game could be beneficial for Bret Bielema's team.

24.Nebraska. A clear win over Colorado and a few more losses could give the Cornhuskers room to move up the rankings.

23. Syracuse. Kyle McCord put up career numbers in a surprise win over higher-ranked Georgia Tech.

22. Clemson. Cade Klubnik had 7 TDs…in the first half when the Tigers came back this week.

21.Louisville. Tyler Shough scored two runs for 349 yards in a win over Jacksonville State.

20.Arizona. The Wildcats had a slow start on offense but were able to prevail against Northern Arizona.

19. Notre-Dame. The MAC teams had a 0-51 record against top-five teams until Northern Illinois dashed the Irish's playoff hopes.

18. State of Iowa. Another close Cy Hawk game, this time with the Cyclones securing the win over Iowa with a last-second field goal.

17. University of California. Nicholls made it a 2-point game in the third quarter, but Garrett Nussmeier threw six touchdown passes and finally pulled away.

16.Michigan. Relegation is expected as the champions suffered a defeat at home against Texas.

15. State of Oklahoma. A slow start against Arkansas, but the Pokes caught up in the second overtime and made the comeback.

14. State of Kansas. Two late goals helped the Wildcats avoid disaster at a Tulane hoping for an upset.

13.Oklahoma. It's a good thing the Sooners have that defense, because that offense faltered against a Houston team it should have easily defeated.

12.USC. Miller Moss and a strong running game put Utah State in the lead.

11.Miami. Cam Ward was responsible for a total of 4 touchdowns in the victory over Florida A&M.

10. Penn State. A close result at home against Bowling Green could cost the Nittany Lions some votes.

9.Utah. Another injury for Cam Rising, but a win over Baylor for the Big 12 contender Utes.

8.Tennessee. Nico Iamaleava threw a touchdown and ran for another while outclassing a top-ranked NC State team. The result will draw the attention of the polls.

7. Missouri. A 21-point second quarter gave the Tigers a lead against Buffalo, with Brady Cook running for two points but not scoring any.

6.Ole Miss. Jaxson Dart set an SEC record with 24 consecutive completions in another win, and the Rebels quarterback has rushed for 795 yards without an interception against inferior opponents this year.

5.Oregon. With a last-second field goal, Boise State was able to fend off a surprise attempt and remain undefeated.

4.Alabama. Again it was close against USF, but the Tide was able to pull away in the fourth quarter.

3. State of Ohio. Judkins and Henderson ran for four touchdowns and Jeremiah Smith ran for over 100 yards and another touchdown.

2.Texas. AP voters could move the Longhorns up one spot after an impressive win over the defending champions.

1. Georgia. As expected, the Bulldogs handed Tennessee Tech a defeat.
