Nintendo Switch 2 leak confirms feature we've all been begging for

The successor to the Nintendo Switch is actually shaping up to be a great console after a leak apparently confirmed a feature that fans have been dying to see included.

Even though Nintendo has stated several times that the Switch 2 will not be released this year, the rumor mill continues to churn.

In fact, industry insiders believe that the release of the next Nintendo console is imminent.

Before the Switch 2 there is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Without official confirmation, we have to take these claims with a grain of salt. But that doesn't mean we can't be happy about leaks that come from “verified” sources.

We all want backwards compatibility on our new consoles, but it is often overlooked, at least initially.

However, this is apparently not the case with the Switch 2 in terms of backwards compatibility.

When Adrien190303 posted on Reddit that the Switch 2 “seems to have gone into mass production,” fellow Redditor NatetheHate2 commented, “It has backwards compatibility support.”

While caution is always advised, NatetheHate2 has proven to be a “generally reliable source” according to the Reddit community.

While this does not make him infallible, it does add weight to his claim.

While this information is welcome, there are some who think it's silly that we're even discussing backwards compatibility as a possibility.

“There's no way people are still talking about backwards compatibility,” Roder777 began. “It's going to happen. We've known that for countless years. They're not going to just throw millions away indiscriminately.”

Even if this is the case, it is still “good for confirmation,” as KingofGrapes7 put it.

Whether you consider this an obvious feature or a pleasant surprise, we can all agree that backwards compatibility is a must for Nintendo going forward.

Now if only we could get a press release from Nintendo about the launch of the Switch 2…

Start manifesting, people.
