Tyreek Hill was arrested by police for a minor traffic violation before the Dolphins' opener; WR plans to play against Jaguars

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was arrested by police for a minor traffic violation before Sunday's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Hill was released by police, is at the stadium and will play against Jacksonville, Rosenhaus told NFL Network.

Hill was taken to the ground by police outside Hard Rock Stadium and handcuffed for five minutes before being released from custody, Rapoport reported on NFL Gameday Tomorrow.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was stopped for a traffic accident approximately one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer assistance. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today's game.”

Around the NFL will have more on this story shortly.
