Teezo Touchdown responds to Kendrick Lamar mentioning his name in “Not Like Us”

Teezo Touchdown has shared his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar mentioning him by name in his infamous Drake diss song “Not Like Us.”

In April, Drake and Lamar engaged in a high-profile feud, sending angry diss tracks back and forth to each other. Lamar’s final dig was “Not Like Us” – which became one of the TikTok songs of the summer, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and became the most streamed hip hop song of the day on Spotify.

In “Not Like Us,” Lamar rapped: “Man down, call an Amberlamps, tell him, ‘Breathe, brother’ / Nail a nigga to the cross, he walk around like Teezo”

In conversation with Billboard In an interview, Touchdown commented on Lamar's name-dropping, revealing that he was in his own “bubble” and only later learned that the Compton rapper had done so. However, he stressed that he was neutral and was honored to be in the same conversation with both rappers.

“I've decided I'm not going to listen to all the back and forth,” he revealed. “I see a mob mentality here and I don't like division. Sorry to be so kumbaya, but it's all love here.” [The simple fact they both] knows who I am… it's still one of those moments where you have to pinch yourself. That kid in Beaumont, I'm pretty sure he's jumping through the roof right now.”

Drake has also praised the Texas native. In the lead-up to Touchdown's long-awaited debut album, “How Do You Sleep At Night?”, he dedicated a post to the rising star, writing in the caption: “Usually this is a merciless, cryptic caption for those who turned against the gang members, but tonight I just heard the best music ever so I'm happy and will spare you the birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown.”

The two also collaborated on “Amen” from the Canadian rapper’s latest album, “For All The Dogs.”

Recently, Drake hinted that there might be a continuation of his feud with Lamar in a cryptic post. This came after his partner, journalist and media personality DJ Akademiks, said that 6God is currently working on new music.

Several well-known rap legends commented on the conflict between Drake and Lamar: André 3000 said it made him “a little sad,” and Questlove described the back and forth as “wrestling-level mudslinging and confrontation by any means necessary.”

Recently, “Not Like Us” producer Mustard called Drake a “weird guy,” while billionaire Michael Rubin banned the song from his party this year because the OVO founder was in attendance.

In other news, Touchdown has released the bold pop-punk track 'None Of Your Business' for the Despicable Me 4 Soundtrack.
