Colorado man is said to be loitering near an elementary school and watching children

CRAIG, Colorado (KKTV) – A man is in custody after allegedly lurking near an elementary school for two days.

Craig Police said they received several calls from concerned citizens on September 3 and 4.

“[Police] received several complaints about a suspicious man being seen in the area of ​​Sunset Elementary School. Initial reports indicate the man was hanging around the area of ​​the school this week during drop off times and observing the children,” police said.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as 62-year-old local resident Kurt Frentress. On the 5th, he was reportedly found sitting under a tree just a few feet from the school.

“Following the investigation, Kurt was taken into custody without incident for stalking an adult in a domestic violence incident and transported and booked into the Moffat County Jail,” the police department said.

Police have not commented on whether the stalking allegations are related to his alleged care of children at school.
