NFL Season 2024, Week 1: Game Thread for the 1st Quarter Seahawks vs. Broncos

Two years ago, the Seattle Seahawks faced the Denver Broncos to close out Week 1 on Monday Night Football. It was Russell Wilson's debut with the Broncos and his controversial return to Seattle. Forget that game. Only 18 players from Seattle's active roster remain on this year's team, and we know Denver also traded away many players and a coaching staff.

Under new head coach Mike Macdonald, a new era is beginning for the Seahawks, which gives cause for great optimism that the team is on the right track.

Geno Smith is still Seattle's quarterback, but Denver's quarterback is rookie Bo Nix. Last year, he played in Seattle as the Oregon Ducks' starter, losing a heartbreaking game to the Washington Huskies. He's now in the major leagues and is the Broncos' first rookie quarterback since John Elway to start in Week 1. Broncos fans are excited to see if he can have a HOF career like Elway. Seahawks fans are excited to see how the new Macdonald defense makes Nix's life hell.
