Joey Porter Jr. injured in game against the Falcons

UPDATE: Porter has returned to the game.

The depth of the Pittsburgh Steelers' CB roster is already thin, and top cornerback Joey Porter Jr. left his team's Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons and went to the blue medical tent with a possible upper-body injury.

Porter appeared to be in pain as he was checked on the sideline and then taken to the medical tent. Porter is Pittsburgh's best cornerback after an impressive rookie season and losing him would be a major blow to Pittsburgh's defense. Porter totaled two tackles today and he looked good in coverage, while Atlanta's best receiver Drake London had just two 15-yard receptions.

Hopefully Porter's injury isn't too serious. ESPN's Brooke Pryor said it appears to be a shoulder injury for Porter.

Cory Trice Jr. replaced Porter at the outside position alongside Donte Jackson. If Porter does indeed have to go down, it would not be a surprise if the Steelers looked outside the organization for a cornerback.
