Our MLB expert believes Chris Sale will get in the way of the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, while Yariel Rodriguez will struggle to keep up with the Braves star.

The Toronto Blue Jays surprised the Atlanta Braves with a high-scoring win on Saturday, but this afternoon's series finale could be a little different with Chris Sale on the mound for the hosts.

Read on to find out why Atlanta's ace gives his club a huge lead in my Blue Jays vs. Braves game MLB predictions and picks for Sunday, September 8.

Prediction for Blue Jays vs. Braves

My best bet
Braves -1.5 F5 (+115 at PROLINE+)

My analysis

Chris Sale is expected to make his 27th start of the season and continue his dominant season. The Atlanta Braves star, who is currently the leader in the NL Cy Young Oddswas virtually untouchable for most of the year.

Sale has allowed no more than two earned runs in 15 consecutive starts and is coming off a seven-inning shutout against the Rockies. The 35-year-old also has a 6-0 record in his last 11 games, with his most recent loss coming on June 27.

The situation on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays is not so promising, as Yariel Rodriguez will make the start. The right-hander kept the Twins off the board in his last appearance on September 1, but only lasted three innings. Before that, Rodriguez had allowed a total of 15 earned runs in his three previous starts.

As if facing the likely NL Cy Young winner wasn't tough enough, the Jays are currently in the midst of a pretty weak offensive streak. Toronto has scored three or fewer runs in seven of its last 10 games and has scored over the F5 team total in just three of its last 13 road games.

Prop for Blue Jays star player

My best bet
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBI (+210 at PROLINE+)

My analysis

After a bit of a slump in mid-July where he had just five RBIs in 13 games, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is back on track. The Jays star has recorded an RBI in five straight games and has a .389 batting average through the first four games of September.

While the matchup against Sale will always be difficult, Vladdy will at least fancy his chances against a left-handed hitter. Guerrero Jr. has only had 27 of his 94 RBIs against lefties this season, although his RBI-AB ratio is much better against lefties (28%) than against righties (15%).
