Seahawks win while Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix makes ugly debut

Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix had a debut to forget.

Nix struggled throughout today's 26-20 loss to the Seahawks, playing almost exclusively short passes and never threatening the defense further down the field. He looked very much like a debutant in the starting lineup.

A Broncos possession in the fourth quarter ended when Nix threw a particularly bad interception with three Seahawks defenders in the box. Nix did use his legs to set up a touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.

Nix completed 26 of 42 passes for 138 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions, and also ran five times for 35 yards and scored a touchdown.

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith wasn't great, but aside from an early interception, he did enough to keep the game in check. He also scored a touchdown on a 34-yard run, the longest of his career. Seattle running back Kenneth Walker had over 100 rushing yards and was explosive with the ball in his hands.

The Seahawks can be happy with the win, but they also have to realize that it doesn't help them if many opposing quarterbacks play as badly as Nix did today.

The Broncos have to be concerned as Sean Payton's second year and Nix's first year have started off rocky.
