Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions scores 52-yard touchdown against the Rams

DETROIT – Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams scored an electrifying 52-yard touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday by running into the end zone after catching a long pass from Jared Goff.

Williams, who broke free from his defender on the left sideline to set up the goal, struck with 10:37 left in the third quarter and celebrated his big play with a dance.

The 52-yard touchdown is the longest touchdown of his career and his second-longest pass. He caught a 64-yard pass in Week 17 of last season against the Dallas Cowboys.

Earlier, second-year running back Jahmyr Gibbs had given the Lions their first touchdown of the 2024 season with a 1-yard kick.

Gibbs' run was originally ruled a no-game-winning run, but a replay overturned that decision, giving the Lions a 10-3 lead with two minutes left in the second quarter.

The touchdown marked Gibbs' fifth consecutive game with a rushing TD since last season – the longest active streak in the NFL.

The touchdown concluded a 4:34 minute drive with nine plays and a length of 77 yards.
