Guy Fieri was mistaken for a bartender and told to go back to work while hanging out with Sylvester Stallone

Someone was unaware of his status as “Mayor of Flavortown.”

Food Network star Guy Fieri fit perfectly into the catering staff at Sylvester Stallone's home.

Fieri was mistaken for an employee when he arrived at Rocky Star's house as a guest in 2020, the chef, author and television presenter said on In detail with Graham Bensinger this week. The spiky-haired star, known for his no-fuss food and clothing choices, wore a denim jacket in the residence's cigar room.

“I look around and this lady comes in and says, 'Take off the jacket, leave,'” Fieri said about a minute into the video below. “She thought I was here to work. She thought I was a bartender.”

The woman, whose name he did not mention, was embarrassed when she later discovered that the denim jacket-clad bartender was actually the “Mayor of Flavortown,” with an empire of television shows, including Diners, drive-ins and pubsand cookbooks.

“We laughed a lot,” Fieri said.

Although he wasn't serving drinks that day, Fieri was actually cooking. After Stallone invited him to a private event where he planned to serve the sandwiches he ordered, Fieri said he wanted to prepare the food.

Fieri had another memorable moment in the actors' enclave when Stallone introduced him to actor Al Pacino. (He also had the chance to meet Sugar Ray Leonard and chat with mutual acquaintance Arnold Schwarzenegger.)

“And I'm not a celebrity fan, except…” Fieri said of Pacino. “This is another level. I mean, he's making history. I mean, he's royalty. He's just another level, you know.”

Fieri explained the Scarface Star the “nicest guy in the world”.
