After both teams scored first with field goals, Gibbs gave the Lions their first lead with a 1-yard touchdown run with one minute and 57 seconds left in the first half.

The Lions went into halftime with a 10-3 lead thanks to a Kerby Joseph interception in the Lions' end zone with just 15 seconds left in the half after Stafford led the Rams into the red zone to score a couple more points late in the first half.

The Lions increased the lead to 17-3 early in the third quarter on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Jameson Williams down the left sideline. Williams fought through a penalty for illegal contact on cornerback Tre'Davious White and still caught the touchdown.

The Rams fought back and took their next possession 70 yards in 11 plays. The nearly seven-minute drive was capped by a 2-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams that made it 17-10 late in the third quarter. The Rams converted a 4th & 3 at the Lions' 29-yard line during the drive.

The Rams scored a 26-yard field goal to make it 17-13 early in the fourth quarter and then took the lead with four and a half minutes left on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
