Pharmacy expert AJ Day becomes CEO of Wilcrest Pharma

Newly founded, Houston-based 503B The outsourcing facility will manufacture drugs to meet the demand for antineoplastics and prevent drug shortages.

HOUSTON, 6 September 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Wilcrest Pharma, a newly established Houston-based 503B An outsourcing company specializing in the production of antineoplastic drugs and alleviating drug shortages has appointed AJ Day, PharmD, as its CEO.

Day is a committed advocate for prescription medicines and patient access and brings extensive experience in regulatory affairs and the prescription medicine supply chain. This experience will be critical to the growth of the company and the continued development of its product portfolio.

Wilcrest Pharma will manufacture high quality sterile and non-sterile medicines that are often difficult to manufacture or are only available in limited quantities in healthcare settings, clinics, pharmacies, etc.

Day previously served as Vice President of Clinical Services at PCCA in Houstona leading provider of high-quality pharmaceutical chemicals, equipment and training to pharmacies that manufacture drug products. Throughout his career, Day has provided expert testimony to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the drug manufacturing industry, published journal articles on a variety of clinical topics, and directed continuing education programs for physicians, veterinarians, pharmacists and regulatory agencies around the world.

He served on the Compounding Steering Committee of the National Community Pharmacists Association and on the boards of the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding, the Pharmacy Compounding Foundation, and the Texas Pharmacy Foundation.

Day is also active in several pharmacy groups, including the Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Pharmacists Association. He studied chemistry at the University of Texas at Austinand received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston School of Pharmacy in 2007.
