Regular school schedule after Sunday threats against Elmore County schools | Crime

A student at Millbrook Middle School made threats against Elmore County Schools on Sunday, according to Superintendent Richard Dennis.

While threats against Montgomery schools were circulating over the weekend, they also spread to Elmore County schools on Sunday evening, many of which were visible on social media.

“Police officers visited a 12-year-old at Millbrook Middle School,” Dennis said. “I don't know if that's related to the situation in Montgomery or not.”

Dennis said numerous law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation into the case and that classes at Elmore County Schools have returned to their regular Monday school schedule since 6 a.m. Monday morning.

Before he went to bed on Sunday, Dennis said he was aware of the threats in Montgomery.

“I got a call (Sunday night) from my staff about the situation at Millbrook,” Dennis said. “I think one girl now regrets what she did. To my knowledge, she has never been a disciplinary problem before.”

Dennis said many precautions were taken Monday to ensure the safety of students, but he could not disclose what they were.
